The Ashford Independents are standing in 32 wards across the borough. They are meeting residents who have never received a leaflet from a political party before. In many cases, residents have never even met a candidate standing for election to the borough council before. The Ashford Independents are pioneering a new approach to local government - free of national party politics, we aim to represent the wishes of local people, whatever they may be. We have no whip and have no political agenda. Our aim is simple: democracy.
The Ashford Independent Party is unique; we are the only party that exists exclusively to serve the residents of Ashford Borough. That means we are not conflicted in the same way the national parties are and can focus on the local issue that are important to you.
After 12 years of failed leadership by a clique of individuals operating under the conservative banner, the people of Ashford are crying out for change. Ashford deserves better. The fact that 32 local residents are standing across the borough, representing and embodying communities around Ashford, shows that there is a real appetite for something fresh.
