After 12 years of mismanagement Ashford has a rundown Town Centre, a half-open Julie Rose Stadium, a half-rebuilt Stour Centre, poor-quality dormitory building developments, a shortage of facilities and jobs and no popular entertainment centre.
Look carefully at the 32 candidates of the Ashford Independents. They are Engineers, Business people, Scientists, Surgeons, Farmers, Nurses, Teachers and IT specialist etc - people who have life experience and ability. They are united in condemnation of a secretive and exclusive Council leadership that is deaf to Ashford residents. They passionately believe that a better Ashford is possible and should be delivered. They may not be professional Politicians, but isn’t that a good thing.
